2015 VW Golf earns 2015 Ideal Vehicle Award
As a Volkswagen dealership, we’re lucky to be surrounded with some iconic models days after day. The 2015 Volkswagen Beetle stands as the retro-inspired model which has a place of honor as the first model to start the lineup, while the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta remains an attractive option for those on a budget. Still, there can be little doubt the Golf is one of our most sought-after models, and with news of the 2015 VW Golf earning the 2015 Ideal Vehicle Award, it can hardly come as a surprise.
For 2015 the Volkswagen Golf was completely redesigned, qualifying it for the prestigious Motor Trend Car of the Year award. After earning high praise for a practical design that is fun to drive, affordable and offers stellar cargo capacity, the Golf already earned recognition as an impressive model to beat. This is the second consecutive year in which the Golf ranked first for the compact car segment, and the fourth time it has managed to within the last six years.

What does it take to earn the Ideal Vehicle Award
While we feel perfectly comfortable bragging about the awards the 2015 VW Golf has earned, the fact is most of them are based on the reviews of auto writers. On the one hand, this means experts who spend every day analyzing the different features of vehicles across all makes and models are impressed with our favorite hatchback, but on the other hand they can’t possibly know what the vehicle is like months down the road. Which is what makes the IVA award such an impressive win for the 2015 Volkswagen Golf. Rather than being awarded by car journalists, the IVA is given based on a survey of 66,000 new car owners across the U.S. Fifteen categories are judged, including driver comfort, safety features, interior lighting, ride and handling, interior storage, technology, and power and acceleration.
We know Volkswagen has some diehard fans, but there are many factors to consider when it comes to earning a consumer-based award, and the competition for the Ideal Vehicle Award pitted the 2015 Volkswagen Golf against 12 other models.
