2016 Volkswagen Passat Voted Best Midsize Sedan
If anything shows that it’s important to constantly innovate and update, it’s the fact the 2016 Volkswagen Passat was just voted Best Midsize Sedan by Cars.com. This is an important honor for the model, as it confirms the changes that have been made for the model year, primarily a facelift and the MIB II system, have worked to make it a fresh option in the minds of experts and regular drivers alike. We are particularly happy to see it take the first slot, as it managed to beat out some important rivals.
Which vehicles did Cars.com test drive for Midsize Sedan segment?
It isn’t impressive to top your segment if the other vehicles tested aren’t strong options. The 2016 Volkswagen Passat was one of nine cars tested over a 220-mile road course. - 2016 Volkswagen Passat
- 2016 Kia Optima
- 2016 Chevrolet Malibu
- 2016 Hyundai Sonata
- 2016 Honda Accord
- 2016 Subaru Legacy
- 2016 Toyota Camry
- 2016 Mazda6
- 2016 Nissan Altima
You may be shocked to note that some of the automakers with the best reputations failed to be as impressive as some of the less expensive options on the market. After driving the Passat, the reasons it was chosen as number one included just how spacious the model is, the easy use of the VW App-Connect features (which include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity), the wide host of available driver assistance features for the model year, and the fact that it is actually fun to drive.
