Father’s Day 2015 weekend events Springfield MO
Father’s Day is just over a week away, falling on June 21st this year, and sometimes dads are the hardest people to plan for, especially when the holiday falls on a Sunday every year. Sure, sure, it’s a great day for brunch, but so is every other day of the week. We’ve been digging deep, and we think we’ve found some of the most interesting Father’s Day 2015 weekend events in Springfield MO. We hope at least one of them will do the trick and make dad smile.
Maybe it’s a one-track mind sort of thing over here at Volkswagen of Springfield, but we naturally think dads would appreciate spending the day at a car show. Right Here in Springfield the 43rd Annual Rods and Relics Road Run. It’s going on over the entire weekend, so you could take Dad anytime. It’s all pre-1949 vehicles, so it should be an entertaining time for car enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Fun for young families
Being a parent oftentimes means being selfless, and until your kids are old enough to appreciate all you’ve done, Father’s Day might be a compromise between appreciating dad and keeping the kids entertained. Some great events are going on at the Discovery Center, including a BubbleFest on the 20th and Fathers and Grandpa both get in free on Father’s Day. It’s a great place to help kids get interested in science, and you may just learn a thing or two yourself.

Other places to go
Baseball fans are likely already aware the Springfield Cardinals are playing a home game on Father’s Day, which means you can get your tickets now and get Dad some peanuts and crackerjacks while you’re there. For the edgier sports fans, there’s also Go Skateboarding Day at the Springfield Skate Park. Watch people do tricks, eat concessions, win great giveaways and have a good time.
