What comes standard in the 2017 VW Pink Beetle?

There have been so many renditions of the Volkswagen Beetle over the years, that it’s entirely possible to find one that won’t be like all the others you see on the street. Just this year, Volkswagen released the Special Edition Volkswagen Beetle Dune and the 2016 Volkswagen Beetle Denim, both vehicles that are throwbacks to previously popular versions of the retro-inspired car. Now those who have been seeking a vibrant car worthy of Barbie will find it next year. But for those wondering if it’s all looks and no substance, the big question is what comes standard in the 2017 VW Pink Beetle?

Features and specs of the 2017 Volkswagen #PinkBeetle

Since it was first shown at the NYIAS 2015 last year, it was known simply as the Pink Beetle, a tame name if there ever was one. To spice things up a bit and bring appeal to this social generation, the model has been names after its own hashtag. Love it or hate it, calling it the #PinkBeetle is a modern idea for a car that mainly plays on our nostalgia.

When it comes to the standard components of the #PinkBeetle, you’ll find the exact same things you’d find in a standard 1.8T Beetle. That is to say, it has the 174-horsepower turbocharged engine which is paired together with a six-speed automatic transmission. Everything that matters to get the car rolling is exactly the same.

So what’s different? For the exterior you’ll notice the exclusive Fresh Fuchsia Metallic color which is contrasted with black gloss mirror accents and black running boards. Lighting includes Bi-Xenon headlights and LED taillights, daytime running lights and license plate lighting.

Moving into the interior, you see a black dashboard and Pink Club plaid seats that are heavily inspired by the Clark Plaid of the GTI. Standard features include Bluetooth with audio, keyless access with push-button start, heated from seats and the 6.3-inch MIB II infotainment system with App-Connect features.

For those who have been waiting for the #PinkBeetle since it was first released, the wait will soon be over. The model is expected to arrive in dealership showrooms this fall. Pricing has not yet been revealed, but we’d expect to see it fall in the mid $20,000 range.
